Vehicle repair bay at an independent auto shop

About the shop

Family-owned, on E Maple Street in Hartville.

Pete’s Auto is a repair shop, a body shop, and a used car lot on one piece of property in Hartville. Most days that means a check engine light in one bay, a bumper on a stand in the next, and somebody out front looking at a truck.

What we do

Mechanical work and body work, same building.

In the bays it’s brakes, warning lights, suspension, exhaust, batteries and charging, heat and air. On the body side it’s collision damage, dents and bumpers, paint, glass, rust, and the cleanup afterward.

Out front are the used cars we’ve taken in and gone through ourselves. Around back is Pete’s Sheds Ohio. Whatever you came for, it’s the same people and the same phone number.

We work on daily drivers. Bring us the car you depend on and we’ll tell you what’s wrong with it.

One shop, both sides

Most wrecks need a mechanic too.

A lot of shops do body work or mechanical work, and you end up driving between two of them. Here it’s one building and one estimate.

One estimate for the whole job

If a wrecked car also needs a wheel bearing or an alignment, it all gets done here. One drop-off, one estimate, one phone call.

You talk to the people doing the work

Whoever explains the repair works in the building where it happened. No call center, no service writer three towns over.

We’re still here afterward

Something not right when you get it home? Call the same number and bring it back to the same lot.

Your first visit

What happens when you bring a vehicle in.

  1. Before you come in

    Call or send the details

Year, make, model, and what the vehicle is doing: the noise, the light on the dash, the pull to one side. If it was an accident, add the insurance carrier and claim number if you have them.

  2. Dropping it off

Bring it by during shop hours

We're at 428 E Maple St in Hartville, open 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. Saturdays are by appointment, so call first.

  3. After we look at it

You hear what it needs and what it costs

We tell you what we found, what it takes to fix, and what it costs. Nothing gets repaired until you say yes. If we find something else along the way, you hear about it first.

  4. If insurance is involved

    We deal with the carrier

On collision work we photograph the damage, write the estimate, and talk to the insurance company directly. You don’t have to relay messages back and forth.

Finding us

Service area

Hartville, and the towns around it.

Most of our work comes from Stark and Summit County. There’s one shop, so wherever you’re coming from, the vehicle comes to Hartville.

The regulars come from Uniontown, Marlboro, Greentown, Mogadore, North Canton, Plain Township, Green, Limaville, and the townships in between, all within about a half-hour drive. People come from farther out too, usually for body work or because someone sent them.

Talk with the shop

Tell us what’s going on with your vehicle.

Call, stop by, or send the year, make, model, and a short description of the problem. We’ll call or text you back with what to do next.
